• Trade Wars 2002, game B

From Hellhawk to All on Saturday, December 17, 2005 08:17:49
Recently I have been discussing the idea of a re-bang with the other two people currently playing. It seems like this would be easier to discuss outside of the game, since the TW2002 interface doesn't really facilitate long discussions. Should be easy enough to figure out who I am, BTW-- I use the name nick both on the BBS and in the game.
Those of you playing, what paramaters would you like for a re-bang? Turn length, presence or absence of photons, number of sectors, et cetera.
If you're not playing, but might be interested in a re-bang, what would you like to see?

You guys give me the A-ok, and I'll do it.

Gracias, Senior SysOp. Let me knock heads with the other guys and see what they have to say...

Nobody seems to have much to say yet, so let me toss out some ideas:

    5,000 sectors
    1,000 turns per day
    MBBS mode off
    Gold mode off
    20 second photon wave duration

    An alternate idea:

    20,000 sectors
    2,000 turns per day
    MBBS mode off
Gold mode on (required for more than 5k sectors)
    20 second photon wave duration

A bigger universe makes for a somewhat less cutthroat game, since people won't be fighting as hard for elbow room. I do suggest, however, that if the number of sectors is raised above 5,000, then the maximum warp calculation should be raised to 255. The default is 45, but in a big universe that often isn't enough.

    Thoughts?

At this point it looks like I'm the only one still playing regularly, and I can understand why-- at this point I could pretty much take over the universe, blockade SD, and nuke the last person left in the game. I think it's fair to say this game is played out. (^_^)

How about a re-bang with the following settings:
    5,000 sectors
1,000 turns per day (with three day turn accumulation, to accomodate people who can't always log on each day)
    MBBS mode off
    Gold mode off
    20 second photon wave duration
    255 sector warp calculation

This makes a nice "stock" universe with plenty of elbow room. Any objections? /sav

this sounds good to me. let me know when you want this done and I'll get on it. I'll also post some messages to the BBS and Fido to see if we could get anymore people in the game.

Today's probably a good day, it being January 1 and all. (^_^) I've messaged Deathblade and Gogora in-game several times over the last two weeks, but received no response-- I don't think they're playing any more.

    Thanks!

One last thing: I just spoke with Deathblade, and he asked that internal aliens and Ferrengi be turned on.
    Muchas gracias!
